Parvez Elahi's judicial remand in Judicial Complex vandalism case extended

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – An anti-terrorism court of Islamabad on Thursday extended judicial remand of former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi for 14 days in Judicial Complex vandalism case.
Duty judge Shahrukh Arjumand conducted hearing of the case due to non-availability of judge Abul Hasnaat Zulqarnain.
The former Punjab chief minister was brought to court where he marked his attendance. Further hearing of the case was deferred till Feb 29.

Earlier on Wednesday, Parvez Elahi had obtained bail in the illegal recruitment case.
A Lahore court heard the case pertaining to alleged illegal recruitment of principal secretary by Parvez Elahi and accepted his bail plea after considering arguments presented by the lawyers.
Parvez Elahi's counsel contended that the notification of the appointment of the principal secretary was issued before he assumed the position of chief minister. Additionally, the judicial magistrate discharged Muhammad Khan Bhatti from the case.
After deliberations and arguments from the parties, the court granted bail to Parvez Elahi and directed him to submit surety bond amounting to Rs100,000.
